Big Bible Stories Hit the Yoto Top 10—and Why That’s Not the Part That Matters Most

|Big Bible Stories

As moms, we do a lot of the same things over and over again.

We remind little people to say “please” and “thank you.” We read the same books. We answer the same questions. We make the meals, clean up the meals, and then somehow, everyone is hungry again.

We pray the same prayers. Repeat the same truths. Sing the same songs.

And sometimes, in the middle of all that repetition, you wonder: Is any of this actually sinking in?

Then, every once in a while, you get a little glimpse.

Your child says “thank you” without being reminded.

Your daughter volunteers to pray before dinner.

You overhear your son singing the Scripture song you’ve played approximately 4,000 times in the car.

And suddenly you realize: Oh. They’re listening.

Those little moments of encouragement can mean so much.

And recently, we had one of our own.

A Really Fun Surprise

When we started Big Bible Stories for Little Hearts, we were simply two moms who wanted to create better Bible audio stories for our own kids.

We wanted Bible stories that were faithful to Scripture but told in a way that would capture little imaginations. We wanted character voices and sound effects and music. We wanted our kids to want to listen—and, through all that listening, to begin hiding God’s Word in their hearts.

So when we discovered in August that our Fruit of the Spirit card had made Yoto’s US Top 10 chart, we were amazed.

And then it stayed in the Top 10 for a second week.

There it was, alongside some of the biggest names in children’s audio—a little card filled with Scripture, Bible stories, and songs about love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

For two moms who started this company with a lot of prayer and a very big idea, it was a pretty special moment.

Charts Change. And That’s Kind of the Point.

Yoto’s US Top 40 chart is updated weekly, so the rankings are always changing. Our cards move up, move down, and sometimes surprise us all over again. Both Fruit of the Spirit and The Story of Christmas have appeared on Yoto’s US Top 40 chart, and yes—we have a lot of fun checking it.

But we also know that a chart is just a chart.

As exciting as it was to see Fruit of the Spirit in the Top 10, the number itself isn’t what keeps us going.

It’s what that number represents.

It represents families choosing to fill their homes and car rides and quiet times with stories about Jesus.

It represents kids asking to listen to Bible stories again.

And again.

And again.

It represents God’s Word finding its way into ordinary moments of childhood.

That’s the part we never want to lose sight of.

The Encouragement That Means Even More

As fun as rankings can be, the messages and reviews we receive from parents mean even more to us than seeing our name on a chart.

It’s the mom who tells us her child asks for Big Bible Stories every single night.

The parent who realizes her preschooler has memorized a Scripture verse because she’s been singing it around the house.

The family who tells us their child is suddenly asking questions about Jesus.

The little voice in the backseat singing, “Love, joy, peace…” without realizing that God’s Word is taking root in their heart.

Those are our favorite milestones.

Because charts change every week.

But truth planted in the heart of a child?

That’s what we’re here for.

Keep Planting the Seeds

Maybe you need that reminder today, too.

Maybe you’re in a season where you’re doing the same good things over and over and wondering whether any of it is making a difference.

Keep reading the Bible story.

Keep singing the song.

Keep answering the question.

Keep praying at bedtime.

Keep pointing them back to Jesus.

You may not always get to see what’s happening beneath the surface. But every once in a while, God gives us one of those sweet little glimpses that reminds us: keep going.

For us, seeing Fruit of the Spirit in Yoto’s Top 10 was one of those moments.

But knowing that children are listening to—and loving—God’s Word?

That will always be the encouragement that matters most.

Thank you for letting Big Bible Stories be a small part of the way you’re passing truth on to the next generation.
